What is Hoops for Hope?

Hoops for Hope is an annual 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament that benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  Our mission is to raise money in order to help the Make-A-Wish Foundation continue to support its initiatives.  We do this by orchestrating a Fun-filled day of basketball tournaments, street pole vaulting competitions and golf events at Dublin Scioto High School in Dublin, OH.

Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has given hope, strength and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions. From its humble beginnings with one boy’s wish to be a police officer, it has evolved into an organization that grants a child’s wish in the U.S. every 40 minutes.  Make-A-Wish Foundation is the nation’s largest wish-granting organization.

How is the Basketball tournament organized?

Hoops for Hope provides a great day of fun for the entire community! Teams compete for medals in all brackets. The tournament will offer separate divisions for male and female participants from middle school to adult.  Competition brackets will be based on the types of teams that register based on sex and age.  Historically we have a large number of participants, volunteers and spectators. In order to serve more teams and increase tournament participation, we form a competition bracket for as few as 3 teams (9 players of the same age/sex). For instance third grade boys or girls as an example.

We always have several teams including family members, volunteers and spectators. Local media is notified of the event for maximum event exposure for our sponsors.
